POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Executive Director position is to serve as the public face of the United Fund of Globe-Miami, Inc. organization.  The primary focus for this role will be spent interacting with Donors, agencies, and the public. Additionally, this position will focus on Marketing, Public Relations, Operational Administration, and actively improving United Fund’s ongoing processes to strengthen sustainability by attracting future Donors. This position will develop, implement, evaluate, and improve marketing, agency relations, community outreach, and donor relations plans consistent with United Fund’s values, priorities, and budget capacity. Target areas will be coordinated between the Board President and the Executive Director.

The Executive Director will communicate with the Board of Directors, non-profit agencies, Donors, and respond to public inquiries. Related duties will include the creation or editing of documents, internal memos, emails, procedures, formal letters, and reports. This position will also prepare and submit grant applications to external Donors.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving the Globe-Miami community and possess strong marketing, public relations, and non-profit leadership skills.

This is an hourly (invoice-based) Independent Contractor position. Compensation commensurate with qualifications.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position will report to the President of the Board of Directors.  

This position does not directly/indirectly supervise any positions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

The responsibilities of the Executive Director include but are not limited to:

Compliance & Sustainability (42%)

· Community Events – First Fridays, Second Saturdays, Miami Fiesta, Gila County Fair, Dominion Royale, Apache Jii

· Office Hours – Application Window

· Office Hours – Sustainability, Planning, and Development

Current Donor Relations (12%)

· Open Enrollment for Freeport, Capstone, Gila County, City of Globe

· Digital & Print Marketing Materials for Payroll Deduct Donors

· Thank you notes for donors

Operational Administration (7%)

· 2024 Gala Planning

· Annual Funding Application Process 

· Budget Committee

Future Donor Relations (5%)

· Communication with local businesses

· Prospective Donor outreach

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

· Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

· Five (5) years of grant and/or non-profit administration, governmental accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

· Prior experience developing departmental plans, objectives, and policies 

· Prior experience preparing financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements

· Prior proposal and/or grant writing experience

Licenses, Clearances, and Credentials

· Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License

· Must be able to be bonded

· Successful background check clearance

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge of grant accounting principles and practices, and Federal and State regulations governing grant accounting activities

· Proficiency with basic office equipment such as computers, printers, and fax machines

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

· Clear understanding of United Fund organizational and operational policies and procedures

· Knowledge of social media & marketing best practices

· Ability to maintain regular and substantial contact with others related to policies and programs which may include proposal or grant writing

· Ability to maintain professional and ongoing rapport with agencies and Donors

· Ability to handle sensitive, complex, and/or confidential information

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy

· Ability to present information and respond to questions from board members, agencies, Donors, auditors, granting agencies, and the general public

· Ability to perform mathematical operations and make sense of multiple data

· Ability to read and write at a professional level

· Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands, and delegate tasks and authority

· Demonstrated analytical ability in defining problems, collecting data, analyzing information, and making logical conclusions based on facts

· Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and manage abstract and concrete variables

· Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, correlation techniques, and factor analysis

· Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships and bring people together to solve problems

· Ability and willingness to follow all organizational safety policies and procedures 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position will spend most of the time in a general office environment with very low exposure to safety risk. This position will interact extensively with non-profit agencies, the public, Board of Directors, Donors, and other Institutions over the telephone, by email, on social media, and/or in person. This position will interact consistently with customers on a regular basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· May be required to lift work related materials or equipment up to 15 lbs. 

· Constantly requires dexterity for keyboard operation

· Rarely requires dexterity for special gadgets and special machines

· May be required to walk to and from work site, stoop, and twist
